American Studies is a broad, interdisciplinary major in American Civilization that focuses upon American experience and identity, past and present, using the methods and approaches of a variety of academic disciplines, as well as the cultural perspective of American Studies. The distinctive interdisciplinary approach of American Studies promotes well-rounded intellectual development, as well as valuable career skills in research, writing, critical thinking and analysis. Five majors are offered:

- Museum studies
- Communication & Media Studies

Humanities is an interdisciplinary major allowing each student to work with the PEL Coordinator of Humanities to design a 10-course program using the methodology of one core discipline and supplementing from complimentary disciplines.

The courses in the Psychology major reflects the diversity of the many sub-fields in psychology. Required courses are designed to provide students with a well-rounded education in the discipline while allowing sufficient room for electives. Graduates of the program are prepared for advanced study in psychology and related disciplines as well as employment in professional entry-level positions in human service settings and mental health facilities. A psychology major is also an excellent way for students to prepare for careers in law, business, human resources management, advertising and sales. |
